Free Idea Audit · Getting Started

You do not need a specification to book the call. Bring these nine things and you will leave with a clear first version, a realistic cost and a next step.

A free Idea Audit is a 30-minute call where you explain what you want to build and we tell you what to build, how to build it and what it is likely to cost. You do not need a specification, a design or any technical knowledge. But a little preparation turns a good call into a very productive one. Here is what to bring.

What the call is, and is not

  • It is: a focused conversation with Athar Ahmad, Certified Bubble.io Developer and Tech Architect, about your idea, your users and the sensible first version.
  • It is not: a sales pitch, a technical interview, or a commitment. If your idea is not ready to be scoped, you will be told what to do first.

Nine things to bring

1. The problem in one or two sentences

Who has the problem, and what is painful about it? Example: “Our accounting clients email us documents all week, and we waste hours chasing and sorting them.”

2. Who will use it

List the kinds of users. Clients, staff, managers, administrators. You do not need detail, only the types of people who will log in.

3. How it works today

Spreadsheets, email threads, paper forms, another tool? Describing the current mess is one of the most useful things you can do, because the software replaces it.

4. The three to five things a user must be able to do

Do not list every feature. List the core actions without which the product has no point. These become the heart of your first release. If the list grows long, our feature prioritisation guide can help you cut.

5. Tools it must connect to

Payments, email, calendars, accounting software, a CRM. Name them if you know them. If you do not, that is fine.

6. Web, mobile or both

Where will your users be when they use it? If you are unsure, say so. It is a conversation we have often.

7. Examples you like or dislike

Competitors, tools you currently pay for, or apps whose experience you admire. They show what “good” looks like to you.

8. Your rough timeline and budget range

A range is enough. Typical launches take 2 to 6 weeks depending on scope, and builds start at $3,500, so knowing your range helps us recommend the right first version.

9. Who makes the decision

If more than one person approves spend, ask them to join or share their priorities beforehand. It avoids a second round of discussion later.

What you do not need to bring

  • Wireframes, designs or branding.
  • A technical specification.
  • Any knowledge of Bubble.io or software development.
  • A finished business plan.

If you do have some of these, bring them. If not, the call is designed to work without them.

What happens during the call

  1. You describe the idea and the problem it solves.
  2. We ask questions about users, flows and constraints.
  3. We outline what a sensible first version looks like and how it would be built in Bubble.
  4. You get a realistic sense of effort and cost.

What happens after

There are two outcomes, and both are useful.

If your idea is ready to scope

We will recommend a Discovery Sprint: a $345 engagement that produces a full PRD with scope, user flows, architecture and a cost estimate, delivered within 24 hours. If you approve the build, that $345 is credited toward it.

If your idea is not ready yet

You will be told what to do first. That might be talking to a handful of potential users, narrowing the first version, or testing demand. Our idea validation checklist is a good place to start. This is a better result than paying to build the wrong thing.

After the sprint

Once you approve the PRD, the build begins. You can see how that works in our process from discovery to launch and browse the case studies for examples of products delivered this way.
